Director's Message

 

I will never forget the day I learned how to swing. The day was sunny, the sky was dotted with clouds and I loved everything. I said to my teacher, can you teach me to swing? With a smile she said, “of course I will”. With a little help onto the swing, my teacher helped my feet point up to the sky and then my legs to bend, I WAS MOVING! I began to lean back, just a little and went even further than the last try. My teacher cheered me on and sang “toes up to the sky and then back to the ground”. The sun warmed my upturned face and as I came back I saw the shadows on the ground. I could not believe it! I went home and said to my Mom, "guess what I learned today"? I could not wait to go back.

Welcome to Stepping Stones Preschool!

Stepping Stones provides a preschool environment that meets the needs of all learners. We create developmentally appropriate educational experiences in a bright, well organized and stimulating environment. All of our teachers and support staff are certified with the Connecticut State Education Department.

We use the new Early Learning and Development Standards from the Connecticut State Education Department's Office of Early Childhood. These standards are aligned with the kindergarten curriculum so that children are prepared as they move forward to the elementary schools. We offer Handwriting Without Tears and Learn to Move, Move to Learn as additional experiences for our children. Students participate in Physical Education, Art and Music classes and also have weekly opportunities to take books out from our library.

We offer a specially designed playground for children between three to five years of age. Come visit us! We give tours for prospective students by appointment.
