Megan has been an educator for over 20 years. After earning her MSW she worked at Boys and Girls Village in Milford, CT as a social worker helping students and their families cope with many different challenges. Thereafter she transitioned to the public elementary school environment in a variety of social work roles in the Stratford Public School system. Over the next 15 years Megan worked directly with students, teachers and families in a supportive and collaborative role in order to meet individual goals and expectations.
Megan earned her Intermediate Administration Certificate and has been striving to learn new things and pursue rewarding leadership roles in public education. In 2007, she became the District Coordinator of Pupil Services for the Stratford Public Schools where she supervised and managed special education teachers and support staff including Physical and Occupational Therapists, Speech Clinicians, Psychologists and Social Workers. While acting as an interim principal she realized her strong desire to become a building based school administrator, especially enjoying the rewards that come with working closely with teachers and students. With much encouragement within the community Megan joined the Westport Public Schools in 2010 where she has been an Assistant Principal at Long Lots Elementary School.
Megan has served on many district committees throughout her career. Most important to her heart is her work in Westport on the District Social Skills Committee. As a strong advocate for social and emotional learning, Megan has been integral in developing the district social skills curriculum at the elementary level. With a strong passion for learning and a unique adaptability, Megan strives to be her “best” self in any situation and works diligently to encourage others to do the same.
Megan and her husband Sean have two children, Hannah and Jack, as well as a beloved dog, Hazel. In her spare time, Megan enjoys shopping, the beach and spending time with her mom.
